Support for Stroke Recovery

Many of us will have seen the TV commercial about recognising the major signs of a stroke and the importance of acting quickly to call the emergency services. The most obvious signs are not being able to raise one’s arm, drooping of the face on one side, making it hard to smile, or slurred speech.

But what if you or a close one have already had a stroke and are trying to deal with the after effects? These can often be wide-ranging and different for each stroke patient.

Here at the Chiswick Nursing Centre, we are well geared up, experienced and committed to providing a tailored programme of care and rehabilitation to support stroke patients on their recovery journey.

Following discharge from hospital, some individuals may not be strong or mobile enough to return home. We can provide round-the-clock care from qualified nursing and health care staff who can assist with bathing, dressing, administration of medication and other therapies designed to restore health.

Our in-house physiotherapists will develop a tailored programme to assist with recovering mobility and enable individuals to regain as much independence as possible. Our holistic approach will ensure that both physical and mental wellbeing are to the fore.

Whilst this is ongoing, our ‘resident’ will have access to all of the services available from The Chiswick: a comfortable, home-from-home, ensuite room, delicious and nutritious menus, quality nursing care, an activities programme (where suitable), the company of other residents, all within a warm, safe and relaxing environment where individuals are treated with care and dignity.

As importantly, we will liaise with family members to ensure they are regularly updated on progress and to take on board any special requests, likes or dislikes.
