There really were some close encounters as Chiswick Nursing Centre residents literally came face to face – and even nose to nose – with some visiting alpacas.
The adorable duo, Finley and Arti, were making a return visit after they proved so popular last year. Shy, but gentle and curious, they stood patiently to be stroked and petted. They certainly enjoyed being fed bits of carrot and their audience definitely loved having them in the garden (and our reception area). The fact that it was a warm, sunny day also added to the sense of occasion.
Judging by the welcome they received, the numerous smiles and the soothing atmosphere the animals created, it won’t be the last time that we shall see them. Our thanks to Mortimer Alpacas, near Reading, who run a range of alpaca experiences, including visits to schools and care homes.
